This novel explores an obscure pair of characters from the Fabletown world and is great as an independent read (especially for those that love books written like old-style fables a...” see full review » see other reviews » |

Dark and twisty, this is a good spin on Peter Piper and his brother.”

It's interesting and captivating and really gets you thinking. I was quite happy with the story, but the ending was a bt too abrupt and unfinished for my liking.”

The story involves a spin on the Pied Piper tale - there are appearances but some of our favorite fables: Snow, Rose Red, etc.”

This is a story of the Pied Piper of Hamelin, a story of two brothers, Max and Peter Piper. In current day New York, Peter is married to Bo Peep and they live at The Farm, where some of the magical fairy tale characters live in the real world. When Peter discovers that Max is nearby, he must find him to settle a score. The book flashes back to Max and Peter's childhood, mixed in with the current day storyline.
I really enjoyed this and was impressed with how the ending was done (I wasn't sure how it was going to wrap up). Although the book is a novel, there are a few very nice illustrations throughout, and there is a very short continuation of the story at the end, in comic format. The novel is related to the Fables series of graphic novels, but can be read independently.”
