“Too much details in anatomy. The book starts strong with Tempe's memories of her childhood and childhood friend. It seems to lose momentum somewhere around the middle when Tempe is working on several cases at once. Became a bit boring and I lost interest after a while.”

Tempe's sister Harry is involved in the story as well as long lost friends and several different Canadian police departments.
This is the first of Kathy Reichs books that I have read, I have enjoyed 'Bones' on TV and was expecting the same from her books. I did enjoy the story, the mystery, and the character interaction. I found the description of the evidence helpful and interesting, but I had a difficult time with the french and location names. I would have enjoyed it much more if they could have just called it a lake, a river, or a simpler street name instead of putting the very long french names.”
“An amazing book!”

It is good, but not great. It does go into too much detail regarding bones for me, but the mystery held it's own. I would read her other "Bones" books.”

We get to learn a little more about Tempe's past, as a case she's working on reminds her about her childhood friend Evangeline. While trying to figure out what happened to Evangeline, Tempe stumbles into a shady underground ring of criminals... (this seems to happen to her a lot). Anyway, the story is exciting and interesting and a fun read.”
