“It's like reading six great short stories somehow tied together through a thread of story lines that connect the characters, the eras (over 600 years) and the themes of humanity, man's haves and have nots, and interpretations of good and evil in a subtle way.
What makes the book interesting is more the way it's written, the language used, the words spoken during the different time periods. The characters are well developed though there are so many.
Each of the six stories transport you to another time, place and mindset. You develop a favorite character, a protagonist, then when you start reading the next story, you have new favorites. The book doesn't hold back with showing the evil nature of people, either. Or the greedy nature or the selfish nature.
Once you get the flow of the book, you look forward to getting to the end of each story but the current one captures your attention and you can't wait until you get to the end of that one. And the next one.”
