Didn’t Like It “I'm about a liberal as they come, so when I picked up this book I was thrilled. Starhawk goes about dismantling patriarchy, misogyny, and homophobia. Yes | No“This book totally engaged me -- the futuristic scenario (which may be a bit too close for comfort), the practical uses of magic (not too woo-woo), and rich characters who seem realistic in their endeavors and challenges. The fact that it is set mostly in the Bay Area makes it even more interesting. Be warned, it is a dark book!”

It shows the possibility of a community that works and warns of what can happen if we don't get that going now, there is also sex, romance, tears, power, fighting, adventure, powerful healing.... ”

“Call me a prude, but I could barely stand to read this book because it had gay sex and threesomes and foursomes, and I disagreed with the politics. However, the story was engaging and it had some fascinating characters and ideas that stand out in my memory to this day.”

“I read this book a long time ago, when I was in the military !!! I would recommend it to anyone who is open to developing a rich and fantastic relationship to our planet, the elements, and/or our relationship to these things as humans.”
