This book totally engaged me -- the futuristic scenario (which may be a bit too close for comfort), the practical uses of magic (not too woo-woo), and rich characters who seem realistic in their endeavors and challenges. The fact that it is set mostly in the Bay Area makes it even more interesting. Be warned, it is a dark book!

Call me a prude, but I could barely stand to read this book because it had gay sex and threesomes and foursomes, and I disagreed with the politics. However, the story was engaging and it had some fascinating characters and ideas that stand out in my memory to this day.

I have owned and read this book for years. It is one of my favs. I love the practical, everyday use of magick in it. It reminds me that energy and power are a natural resource to be treasured and honored and used!
