This is way better than the movie. The characters are deeper and the tone is more somber. But in this book, the jumper is (at least for the time being) the only one of his kind.

If you've seen the movie, completely forget what you watched and start over. The book is infinitely better without the ridiculous Paladins (Samuel L. Jackson was one).

Another really enjoyable book. It takes our world and transforms it into something amazing, even if the "amazing" aspect is only seen in one person. It has a very similar feel to The Bourne Identity, and there are enough twists and turns within it to keep readers guessing and wondering "What's going to happen next?" Also, it's much different from the movie. And much better.

I want to start off by saying. I saw the movie, did not like the movie. Davy's character in the movie was stupid and selfish. Then my Dad said I read the book it's really amazing. So I read the book.

The book was SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE MOVIE! Davy is a hero in the book! He uses his power to help people! He's a stronger and more rounded character.

So the book is about this guy Davy. His father abuses him. He decides that running away would be better than getting beaten. One day he gets put in a bad situation, that's when he realizes he has the power to teleport. That sure does make life easier to get away from his father. So now he has this power to teleport he does have to have been to the place first. It brings open a world of opportunity. It's interesting what he decided to do with his life and time. WAY WAY WAY better than the LAME movie.

Great premise, good progression, but a less than satisfying ending.

Not a classsic but a great action/adventure read. Teleporting is a great concept and Gould does a great job grounding it in reality. The average Joe with a terrific power but who still has to face the problems of everyday life. Enjoyed this.

Other than the fact that the main character (David) can "jump", this book has nothing to do with the movie. The back cover even has pictures from the movie that shows scences and characters that are not in the book. It is amazing that they decided to make a movie (that was interesting) from what I think was a bad book.
