  • Yukiteru Amano: He has the first diary which predicts the future of random events surrounding him. Yet it holds no information about himself. He considers himself a bystander rather than interacting with the world, he watches in silence, recording any detail that takes his notice.
  • Yuno Gasai: Has the diary of the second holder. It perdicts Yukiteru's future in ten-minute uncrements. Revolves entirely around Yukiteru's actions; like a stalker diary.
  • Takao Hiyama: worked as a teacher at Sakurami Junior High. Has the third diary which perdicts the details surrounding Takao's future murders. Reveals the time, place and methods used in eac murder. Thus providing him with a perfect plan of action.
