“ Hourglass begins as Bianca undergoes training for Black Cross, and finds that she isn't as strong as the other members expect her to be. While she attempts to blend in (so that she won't be killed) she finds it more and more difficult, especially because her cravings for blood has increased greatly. However, the members accept her as their own, and things begin to flow as smoothly as they can, considering that Black Cross was a vampire hunter organization.
As the novel moves along, Black Cross Headquarters are attacked by vampires from Evernight, and Bianca and Lucas are forced to escape. On the run, they find Balthazar, who in return of a favor gives them enough money to live on for a while. After a while, Bianca encounters her friends from Evernight, and they offer her a place to stay. Unfortunately, Bianca becomes ill, and try all he might, Lucas cannot save her.
As time progresses, Bianca dies and is left to be a wraith while Lucas and Balthazar try to save her. Although they fail, Bianca made progress, allowing Lucas to see and hear her, even though it simply torments him more and more. In the end, Lucas is turned into a vampire and Bianca is still a wraith.
To be honest, I kind of regretted reading this book. It was one of the most boring stories I've ever read, and although the end was interesting, I can't help but think I wasted my time reading it. Unless you're a fan of the Evernight series (although you'll still be disappointed) or you don't mind reading senseless books in which the female protagonist is completely dense, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.”
“I got 3/4 of the way through and couldn't read it anymore. Thank God Bianca and Lucas had finally gotten around to doing it, I was getting frustrated with the whole 'we havent had sex but we desperately want to' storyline.
These books are getting worse as they go through, the 1st was great, second was alrght but this one was stupid. The ending was crap (i skipped to the last chapter) and eveything in between was silly aswell. Sorry for all the lovers of this series, I was once one of them too, but I got over the whole paranormal romance cliche stuff and you will too. ”
