“This book was a challenge to myself to not judge an author I have not read. I must say, while his movies seem to be awful, the book isn't as trashy as I expected. A lot of the action takes place in the characters heads and the plot is more of an afterthought, which might explain the difficulty in transition to film. A teenage romance that, while authentic in the emotion, definitely feels staged. People simply do not have this amount of drama within such a short period of time. A surprisingly inoffensive read.”

Ronnie and her father rebuild their relationship and it turns out to be the best summer they both ever had.”
