This book is just like the movie but better because it makes you feel like you are right there watching it. this is one of the best books I have ever read.

This book was a challenge to myself to not judge an author I have not read. I must say, while his movies seem to be awful, the book isn't as trashy as I expected. A lot of the action takes place in the characters heads and the plot is more of an afterthought, which might explain the difficulty in transition to film. A teenage romance that, while authentic in the emotion, definitely feels staged. People simply do not have this amount of drama within such a short period of time. A surprisingly inoffensive read.

HB-B @ 2009, 12/09. New Yorkers, 17 year old Ronnie and her 10 year old brother Jonah, are forced to spend the summer with their estranged, dying (unbeknownst to them) dad in NC. As she slowly learns to love and trust her father, she falls in love with the town's heartthrob...someone she never expected to be involved with. Very good.

The movie was amazing so the book must have been too.! This book teaches you soo much about family relationships, first loves and many more. For once this book wasn't just about love it was about the relationship between a father and daughter.
