“One or two interesting facts, but overall a bore to get through.”

This book was obviously hastely churned out in 16 point font to buy a summer cottage, because any drivel discussig the marrige of sciene and the afterlife is sure to sell. Roach claims to go in as a skeptic, but won't take a stance on anything. Also, every paragraph is punctuated with some kind of joke that made me feel like she was trying too hard. The worst part about this book however, is that it is billed as a scientific narrative when it's truly just a collection of historical and modern-day psuedo-science. It's exactly these sorts of books that confuse readers about the scientific method and the true goals, and limitations, of science. ”

So, do we just die, or does some part of our personality keep going? Roach explores this question from science's point-of-view. ”

Do not pick this book up expecting to find vigorous scientific discourse. It's a light read with a handful of interesting facts, but overall I was rather disappointed.”
