Arundathi Roy was always an enigma to me... A booker price winner, I always used to wonder what she was doing being an activist and fighting wars for the tribal people of Narmade bachao Andolan.

The algebra of infinite justice is a great start for all us people who want to understand what troubles our nation and to look beyond the 9%GDP growth we are all so excited about. Was an eye opener in many ways to me... Must read for all Indians who want to understand the problems of their own country..

    now heres an interesting reading.
but if you can not tolerate the extreme leftist ideology , refrain from it
all essays are liguistically well presented.
but i think india and its government and its populace some times gets undue criticism. and the point of view while writing it ,focuses towards an international so called "LIBERAL" audience, as a common man you cant relate to it
as a developing indian on the path to progress "never "
so in totality a thing to be read to have the radical left oppinion on various issues including the narmada dam. but u need to read some unbiased stuff after this, if you are reading about these issues for the first time
