The more I read Maria V. Snyder's stuff, the more I love her. I love how the plot twists and messed with your mind, and I love morally ambiguous characters.

Opal has helped save the storm dancers. In doing so, she has discovered a new power…one that has made her a very powerful magician. One that has the elders fearful. That is why Opal has been sentenced to house arrest. Of course, Opal isn’t the type of person who was made for house arrest. She escapes in search of Ulrick. Her true love.

It seems that Opal is a very popular person. Someone is following her and they don’t have good intentions. Will Opal be able to control her new ability or will it consume her?

Ever since I first read the study books, Maria V. Snyder has been one of my favorite authors. I can’t get enough of her books. Mrs. Snyder’s latest series is no exception. I really enjoyed Storm Glass and couldn’t wait to read the next novel, Sea Glass. Unfortunately, I don’t know what it was exactly but Sea Glass lost a bit of its luster. I couldn’t get into it as much and I had to re-familiarize myself with the story, which took away some from the book. I can guarantee though that I still plan to check out the next novel.

It's interesting how with the Study series we move from no magic to magic while it's the exact opposite for the Glass series. Her last decision completely caught me off guard. Can't wait to see where it goes from there.

This story, another part in Snyder's original "Study" series, follows Opal on her many adventures to protect those she loves.

This seemed like a book of a few short stories that all came together at the end. I really had a hard time putting it down and look forward to book 3 next year.

Opal's story just get's better and better. The politics, intrigue, romance, and character interactions are superb.

I just love this series. I've loved each book since the beginning of the Study series. Maria V Snyder has created a wonderful world and I look forward to each and every story to come. Thank goodness I got her newsletter and found out that the date in the back of this book for the next release is 2010, not 2011! Still wish we didn't have to wait so long.

I finished this book about a month ago but have had so much going on, I haven't been able to keep up with my blogging. So i can't remember details of what I wanted to say. But I will always recommend any of these books by Maria to anyone. Though I will say, start with the first of the Study series. they are all hard to put down and you get sucked into this world she has created.

Not my favorite Glass book but still very readable. I find myself peeved with Opal who "loves" Kade but needs to explore her feelings for the other guy. Frustrating.

I liked this one as much as the first in the series (Storm Glass) and look forward to another Opal Cowan adventure.
