Great writing. Chabon uses a lot of odd analogies when describing a situation or person. It was funny and colorful. The book was for me a blend of a mafia story, film noir, vaudeville and a walk down a Hasidic street in Brooklyn....all set around a remote town and island on the Alaskan coast.
