i was rather confused when i read 'from potter's field'. and i realised i should have started reading the books from the beginning of the series. so here i am.

spoiler: mark james is announced to be dead. benton and kay have an affair. or should i say....start an affair.

i must say i had wondered if the story involving mark's death had been in a separate book! then i realised it was deliberate. very interesting.

oh. the way this story introduced temple gault and spreading his cases over several books....makes me much more mindful that i must read this series in order.

Another good read from Patricia Cornwell but not one of her best. Kay Scarpetta is well written character and I would probably enjoy reading a journal of her life. However this story seemed to wrap up very quickly without a lot of explanation.

I gave this book and the series to my local library to clear my shelves for other things I like. Although I like Cornwell and the Scarpetta Novels, it gets old after a while and I wouldn't read them more than once.

It's a good book but the suspense is not a high level one....

Good so far, but kind of slow getting started on it. I've been reading it at lunch each day.

This book starts the Gault series, and it's pretty chilling.
