What can I say? It's Hillerman ... as Christie is to England, Hillerman is to the Southwest. Incomparable. Leaphorn's saga continues and Jim Chee has come along nicely. I've been addicted since I first found "The Blessing Way" ... and Hillerman's evocations of the Rez are so compelling, I...

If you like Tony Hillerman's murder mysteries (based in and around Southwestern America First Nations reserves), you might enjoy this. It's ok - just not one of his best

Joe Leaphorn is retired in the 2004 book, but he gives his advice to Jim Chee. Jim must climb to the bottom of the Grand Canyon to find Skeleton Man.

Hillerman's books are always good and full of interesting facts about the Indians and the region. Good mysteries and excellent characters.

This book is fast and entertaining. My favorite aspect of the book was learning a little more about my husband's Navajo heritage. HB

I always like Tony Hillerman. It has been awhile since I picked up one of his books. This was a good one. Leaphorn is retired... Chee is about to be married.

Skelton Man wasn't really what i thought it would be. I found it hard to read.

Hillerman really gives you a feel of the area. Lots of suspence.

This is a mystery that I got in audiobook format for a solo road trip. At best, it is adequate.

What can I say? It's Hillerman ... as Christie is to England, Hillerman is to the Southwest. Incomparable. Leaphorn's saga continues and Jim Chee has come along nicely. I've been addicted since I first found "The Blessing Way" ... and Hillerman's evocations of the Rez are so compelling, I became homesick for places I'd never been. So much so that I went to see for myself. Sadly, this Pac NW shiksa can't take all that sun and heat ... stepped out of the car at the Grand Canyon and could actually feel the moisture being sucked out of my body! So, vicariously, I trek the the mountains and canyons of the Four Corners with Chee, egged along by Leaphorn ... musing, taking a break to admire the view, listening ... and bagging the baddies along the way. Oh ... the story ... well, this guy leans out a little too far when he steps off to the side on a treacherous rock climb ... and almost joins the skeleton on the inaccessible ledge he sights below him ... an intact skeleton ... just laying there ... think about it.
