Tony Hillerman is always good for a casual mystery read for me; I enjoy the lore about the different Native American topics. His timing in this one confused me a bit, I had trouble with the placement of what was happening when at points.

Some of his earlier books gave me the willies - lots of suspense. This one didn't have that appeal. If anything this book was a nice character-driven story. You could figure who did what pretty much from the start but it was still a nice story. The use of a character from Asia and the comparisons of origin stories and life-interrupted was genius. But if you are looking for something as eerie and prickly as Skinwalkers - don't look here :)
