Book Review: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is about four best friends that find a magical pair of jeans that fit them all. During the summer, Carmen, Lena, Tibby, and Bridget are on vacation, hundreds of miles away from each other, but the magical jeans keep them together. This great book is about these four girls and their summer with the traveling pants.

My favorite part in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is when Bridget shows the coach that she isn't meant to play defense. This happens on pages 142 - 144, and 218-219. I like this part in the book because Bridget's coach remembers what she did in the last scrimmage, so she disciplines her in the next game. The first scene on pages 142-144: The first time Bridget played on the field, she was playing great, all over the place. Although she was being a ball hog, Bridget got some points for her team. Then, her coach took her out, even when Bridget wasn't tired or winded, which made Bridget mad.

The second scene on pages 218-219: It was Bridget's next game, and because of how she played at the scrimmage, her coach was still upset. She started Bridget in defense, a position she did not want to play, especially since her crush was watching her. "Don't go past mid-field", her coach ordered. Then in the game, Bridget had a break-away, a perfect chance to get that goal. She breaks her coaches commands, and goes past mid-field, but gets the goal! Right then she looks directly at her coach, and is removed from the game. I like this because Bridget, having the strong character that she does, told her coach that she wants to play forward, not in mean words, but in a way that helps her team!

I recommend The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants because it is a great book that almost anyone can relate to, except for the part about the magic pants. This novel is probably a better book for girls because this book I about a summer of four girls, not four boys. Girls would enjoy reading this book because each character is different, but you can relate to every one. The things that happen during their summer, is stuff that teenagers can relate to. Divorce, crushes, new step-siblings, and annoying kids are some of the examples. This is a book worth reading, and one you will remember.
