I think you can take a bit from each of the characters. Tibby's angst, Lena's shyness and desire to blend in to the background, Carmen's having to deal with the changing relationships she has with her parents, and Bridget's desire to be the best. My initial thought is to say I relate to Carmen most because she seems the most real to me, but I think all the characters were true to life. The one I related to the LEAST was Bridget, she was too beautiful and too high maintenance.
I knew that Carmen was my girl when she told her dad exactly what she thought. And she's not ashamed of her booty. : )
Really? That's interesting. I always found Carmen to be the hardest to relate to and Bridget to be the easiest. It was her recklessness, not desire to be the best, that made me connect with her. With Tibby, I was able to particularly realate to her family situation, lonliness, and fear. I also can relate to, like you said, Lena's shyness.
I can relate to all the girls in one way or another. For me, Tibby & Lena are the two I relate to the most. Almost every aspect of the two of them I can relate to. There's a little bit of Carmen & Bridget I can relate to as well. Out of all of them, Bridget is probably the one I have the least in common with. That's one of the things I love about this series, I can relate to all the girls in one way or another. Even when I don't relate to certain parts of their personalities the characters are so believable and so are their story lines.
The fourth book was my least favorite. I thought it was full of cliches. I was hoping for the last one to be great since, you know, it's the last one. I was very disappointed. And if the pants had to be lost, I wish one of the four girls had lost them.
I was insanely angry at the last book. To lose your virginity? I was so damned mad - I did not want my four girls out there having more sex than me! What a damn disappointment! The lost pants just made it worse - lose the pants and your virginity! Whoooopee! Should we tell the girls that sex is boring until you find someone you love? I hated this book and will be taking it out of my classroom library. Let the kids have sex on someone else's time.
I was so disappointed in the 4th book. It seems like the girls friendship should have been stronger, because they had realized that they were individuals, but it felt artificial as opposed the the earlier books.
I really didn't like the fourth book either - it was a complete let down.
I would have to say the fourth one too. Call me a bad girl but it wasn't the sex that made me upset but I got extremely irritated that the one girl that was doing the drama stuff let her "friend" treat her like that. Anybody could see what was going on there, and I can't honestly imagin somebody putting up with it so easily in real life. And okay the "would be affair" thing made me made too. Three was my favorite and if you guys liked these you should check out the Mates Dates series. They are a quick read and I find them quite funny.
Three was my favorite as well. I really loved the plots and liked the way the characters developed. I felt the characters were really strong and believable in this one. The first book of course was good, because if it wasn't, well, I wouldn't have read the rest of the series.
What bothered me about the sex was that it was rather cliche to have a pregnancy scare. The reason I didn't like the sex with Lena was because it was too unbelievable for Lena to have sex with a guy she hardly knew. If it had been Kostos, I wouldn't have had a problem with it because that is something Lena would have done...she loved Kostos. Lena's character just wasn't the type to have sex with a guy she didn't know very well. That's why I was so let down by that.
The affair part made me mad to because Bridget went from falling for the wrong guy to the completely off limits guy. Her story in the entire second book was about how was learning and changing. I realize old habits die hard. Fine. I can understand her falling for the wrong guy more than once, but trying to control it. Falling for a married man though, hmm, that seems off even for Bridget, especially when she has a boyfriend. In the past books we get the idea that Bridget would tempt married men or cheat on a boyfriend, so that's why that storyline angers me so much. Why not give her something completely different or else show her struggling with not taking an interest in off limits guys, not basically, repeating her past from two years ago.
Relating with the Sisters
Which girl was the easiest to relate to?
Which book did you not like the most?
I thought the 1st and 3rd were good, but the 2nd and 4th really made me mad. I was upset that at the end of the series, I was the only one left a virgin! What do you think?
I loved reading about the girls growing and all there experiences before college since i will be heading there soon!
i have read this book soooo many times i could recite every sentence of it in my sleep!!!
Just finished this and thought it was just as good as the first two
The third book is the best of them all. THis book is talking about luving each other with no reason. And the other thing that i learned from it is being a friend is being someone to say "It's ok! FIne to make mistake, the world SUX!!!"
I read this book because it came highly recommended - I did not read the first two - I just grabbed one off of the library shelf. According to reviews this is one of the better books out of the series, and I'm sorry to hear it. This was terribly written, and I couldn't stomach half of it. In my opinion, this is "trash" that is not worth the time, showing that just because things are popular, doesn't make them "good". Ick.
well i think they are both popular and good
I really liked this book. Probably better than the first 2.
This book was alright - they're all starting to blend in with each other. I must say I still think the first book was the best, but I have #4 to go!
