This is the first book in Georgia Evans' Brytewood series. It sets up the trilogy by introducing Brytewood and its villagers. Alice Doyle is the doctor who is also a pixie but since she only believes in science she refuses to believe she's pixie. She's sent conscientious objector Peter Watson to help her. She judges him only to find out his reason and realizes a man does not have to be on the front lines to help the war effort. The Nazis send vampires in to begin taking over Britain. There are otherworldies in Brytewood including Helen's grandmother, Helen. Working together and learning the legends they defeat the vampire who is sent to destroy the munitions plant.

This is a fun series. I enjoy getting to know the characters and seeing the glimpses into everyday life on the homefront of WWII. Alice tries to use logic whenever she can but sometimes logic isn't enough. Sometimes you have to trust that grandmother knows best and follow her instructions. Good reading

This was okay - kind of cute. Seems like the targeted audience is young adult. The book was not well proofed - the plethora of typos is very irritating.

I really enjoyed getting involved with the regular and the other members of this village. I am looking forward to reading the next two books in the trilogy. If she makes it a quartet, I will read that one too.

A pleasant "cozy" vampire story set in WWII England.

I enjoyed this fast moving, multi-character story. I am very glad it's a trilogy and the second one is in the stack to read fairly soon. It would be soonest, but I am not keen on reading any author back to back, so will give something else a go....see what happens when I read a British mystery?
I look forward to seeing what other 'Other' folks live in Brytewood. So far, there are Pixies, a Dragon, a were-fox, and the dread vampires who are working for the Nazis. I liked the implied comparison of the first vampire in this story, Eiche, to Hitler. Eiche lets his arrogance get in the way of his mission...and it doesn't win him any points...
Alice Doyle is intelligent and really has a difficult time admitting to her Pixie bloodline. She also has a time of it realizing how she is falling for Peter Watson, a Conscientious Objector. She considers him a coward, but he has his reasons for not signing up for the fight. And Alice needs him in more ways than one.

    Four WWII Other beans....

Alice is trying to live a ordinary life. Just making house calls and running her surgery, But when she picks up a wounded stranger and takes him to her surgery it won't be long before she will have to start listening to all her Grandmother's talk of Other folk.
Peter is living a hard life with a tragic past. When the Nazis drop Vampires in his new home as spies it will be up to him and Alice to save all of England.

I liked this book more than I thought I would. It's a original plot and the characters are well written. It seemed like the ending dragged on a little and got a little repetitive also but for the most part it was a fun read. I'm looking forward to finding out more about Alice and her powers and all the Other people in the village. Bloody Awful and Bloody Right come out in July and August so I won't have to wait long! I recommend this one!

    Fantastic Book Review

Alice Doyle stumbles upon an injured stranger and being a Doctor, it’s her duty to patch him up. After this encounter, the stranger mysteriously disappears and strange occurrences start to happen across town.

Alice Doyle finds herself baffled when bodies turn up drained dry….What is a girl to do?

Alice soon discovers Nazi vampires hiding among the local folk causing havoc across the land led by Gerhardt Eiche. With Gerhardt Eiche's thirst for victory, it’s up to Alice to stop the Nazi vampires from conquering England. She's determined to get help any way she can even if it's with the unlikely war objector, Peter Watson and her grandma who insists that Alice is a pixie.

Bloody Good is the first book in a supernatural World War II trilogy with a twist….vampires & other mythical creatures. The historical setting is totally different from what I’m use to reading in supernatural books but I enjoyed how Evans was able to tie the supernatural elements into the historical events during WWII. The writing has an English tone and the characters are interesting and nicely written.

Overall, this was a bloody good read! Bloody Awful and Bloody Right are scheduled to be released in July & August. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Dealing with the confines of a World War is bad enough for lady doctor, Alice Doyle. Worrying about if her sleepy little town will be rudely awaken and taking care of all of the aches and pains of the villagers, she soon finds out that trouble is a little closer to home than she hopes. It seems that German spies have taken residence in her village outside of London, but the Reich infiltrating aren't human; they are vampires! How can she save the people of Brytewood? She's just a doctor. Alice soon realizes she is willing to take help from anyone she can get it from. Her new boyfriend,Peter, the Conscientious Objector, her grandmother, The Pixie, Mr. Pendragon, and Gloria, the district nurse.

This book was very surprising for me. I am guilty of judging a book by it's cover, but that is the only problem I could find with this book. I really enjoyed the history of life in England during WWII and the way people had to live. Then to mix in the vampires, the shifters, the vixens, and the pixies, it kept me on the edge of my seat.

I highly recommend this book and this author and would rate this book a 4/5 stars...Can't wait to read the next book in the series called Bloody Awful.

The Nazi's are planning an attack on England. They have dropped off four of their operatives. Their names are Gerhardt Eiche, Wilhelm Bloch, Hans Weiss, and Paul Schmidt. It might be a little hard to spot these Nazi's as they are ...vampires!

There is a slight change in plans, when the plane the vamps are on starts nose diving and they have to bail out in the small town of Brytewood.

Dr. Alice Doyle comes upon a man badly wounded. He has fallen out of a tree. She takes him back home and patches him up. When no one is looking he disappears.

Peter Watson is an ambulance driver. He also happens to be both Alice's new assistant and lover. Peter is more of a lover then a fighter.

When a local farmer dies, Alice suspects something is up. She wonders about the newcomer and his connection to the farmer's death. When the situtation arises for a hero to stand up an fight, will Peter help Alice?

Bloody Good is the first book in this trilogy. Alice may seem like an unlikely heroine but she is tough. I like her take charge attitude. Who surpised me is Peter. While he is quiet and kind-hearted, he seems kind of on the wimpy side. Hopefully that will change in the next novel. Plus the romance between Peter and Alice is just ok. Though other than these factors, I really did like this book. Georgia Evans seems like she has a winner on her hands with this trilogy that consists of Bloody Good, Bloody Awful and Bloody Right.
