“I read this book some years back when it first appeared as part of Oprah's book club. It was not an easy read but it still was very good. I can remember it taking a considerable amount of time to read, but I felt that I just had to finish this novel. Also, from what I can remember it was very sad. I do recommend it to anyone thinking of reading it. Especially, if you are the type that enjoy well developed characters but a story that takes some time to reveal itself. I think the only way I can describe this book is by comparing it to a good bottle of red wine. (Hopefully, that did not sound too pretentious.)”

“This was a very weird book. Although interesting at times I felt dirty every time I read it. I really had to struggle to finish this book. The nice thing about it is that at least all of the loose ends get tied up at the end of the book. This is not a book I would recommend, but that is based on my own tastes.”
