This is one of my all-time favorite books. As a matter-of-fact, it's been years since I've read it and have to do so again. Intense, heart-wrenching, infinitely readable & characters that will live with you long after you've closed the back cover.

Very strange and depressing as I find most of the Oprah books. The troden woman, the abuse from men!

Excellent book! And as RobinReads said, VERY Irving-esque......MacDonald's second book "The Way The Crow Flies" is also very good...highly recommend it for fans of this one.
