- Soria: A former agent for Dirk & Steele, she was seriously injured and has been trying to put her life back together. She has the ability to speak and understand any language.
- Karr: A chimera shape shifter from the past who awakens unable to communicate.
- Ku Ku: Psycho girl with a Hello Kitty fixation. We first met her in Red Heart of Jade.
- Robert Loxley: Who we met in Red Heart of Jade. A hitman who cannot die.
- Serena McGillis: Shape shifter, she works for a group we don't know yet. Her and her group find Karr.
- Koni: An agent for Dirk & Steele, he is a shape shifter and he worked with Soria before she was injured.
- Roland Dirk: Head of the San Francisco branch of Dirk & Steele, he and Soria have been friends for 9 years and FWB (friends with benefits) for a year more. Then Soria is injured and a year later this.
- Eddie: A pyrokinetic, he works as an agent for Dirk & Steele. He is a friend to Soria and was injured himself in The Last Twilight.
- Long Nu: Dragon, shape shifter, leader of all the shape shifters because she is the oldest.
