“The book, The People of Sparks is the second book in the Ember Series, written by Jeanne DePrau. Since Lina, Poppy and Doon have now officially escaped, they ended up in the Sparks Village. Almost four hundred people from Ember followed Lina and Doon's instructions and have now officially escaped Ember. The Sparks people are allowing the Emberites to stay in the Sparks Village, but later on, there is a bunch of war that goes on between the Emberites and Sparks People! This is a really good book, and you should definitely read it if you are a fan of futuristic fiction, action, adventure and science fiction!”Samantha C wrote this review Wednesday, January 30, 2013. “When Lina and Doon lead the Emberites out of Ember, they cross a town Sparks, where people lived together as civilized people. But when someone throws some tomatoes at a shed, (long story) war may come again! The people of Sparks thinks it was an Emberite, so they start a war. Will it be up to Doon and Lina to save the world again?!?! This realistic fiction book is a wonderful story and a sequel to the first book, City of Ember. I liked the book because it was a very thick book and it hooked you in and you wanted to keep on reading. I think you should read this book because it is a very interesting book and very surprising ending. But I recommend you to read the first one before you read this one.”Kevin J. wrote this review Wednesday, January 30, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“This series has been enjoyable to read. There are some slow parts in it but does a wonderful job of pulling you back in. This book would be great for 6-9th graders and even some adults. I had no idea the first book was a movie. I think I'm going to rent it. ”Kali R wrote this review Tuesday, January 29, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“I think this is the absolute worst story in the history of the world and this book should not be worthy of a medal.”Ian D. wrote this review Tuesday, February 26, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“Loved it! I really enjoy youth fiction and find it refreshing and clever. The ideas explored in a story like this are seldom found in adult fiction.”Michael McClure's Bookshelf wrote this review Saturday, January 26, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“I think that this book was really nice. The beginning of the book was a little slow at first but then it started to speed up a bit. This book is part of a series, The City of Ember Series. As the book gets toward the middle it start to drag with a lot of detail. I do feel that the ending of this book could have been a little better. But over all I think this is a wonderful to read. I think who ever reads it will have a fun time reading. There are some surprises in the book too!”MITAL P. wrote this review Friday, January 25, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? I think you should read the book, The People of Sparks, by Jeanne DuPrau.
In this book, Doon and Lina take their town people to The City of Sparks. They battle a starvation and hunger force, working for the people of Sparks. They eventually get into a war, then settle it out. They struggle on an adventure for survival in life. They eventually make up, and then, since it's in the future, Doon re-creates electricity.
I think you should read this because it is a very interesting book, it surprised me how the author thinks the future will be. I was almost scared at the thought. It is a very interesting book and I really enjoyed reading it. :)
“I've heard that its a great book. The climax is very entertaining more than other books. It is a great sequel to the city of ember. I have read the City of Ember and it was great I expect the same maybemore from People of Sparks.”Ronnie A wrote this review Thursday, January 24, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful?
