CIP: " Describes an incident in the life of John Parker, an ex-slave who become a successful businessman in Ripley, Ohio, and who repeatedly risked his life to help other slaves escape to freedom.

I thought this was an excellently written story about the lives of people in slavery during the times of the legendary Underground Railroad. The character development in the book was written wonderfully. You can tell how scared the African-Americans who are slaves feel, and how brave and...
