"Drink, write, fuck."-Bukowski
Basically sums up the book. Fun, easy reading. The everyman's hero. Best read when you are sick and tired of your job.

I saw the movie of this book. Matt Dillion was in it and it was funny. I don't think that I read the book, actually. It's about a guy who has all of these crappy jobs and he just keeps on keeping on. He drinks, ALOT. ”

You and Matt have this book on your shelves. Can you tell me briefly what it's about?

this boozy tale made me feel drunk when i was reading it and when i finished, i swear i had a hangover. anyway, i thought that it was more acurate than most and bukowski writes what many are afraid to put in print: what people really think. its true to life and there is no fairy tale in this novel. i laughed out loud at the dark, dry humor. though it really was sad, but not in the way that you could ever want to cry about it. just don't read it if you're depressed, it will just confirm all of your suspicions.
