Nothing fancy here, just a well written story about a black girl whose father marries a white woman, and then dies. The girl has to adjust to the loss of her father and learn to live with "that woman."

This book was okay. Now that I've had to actually think about it, there were few plots and character stories. It ended on a flat note. You did see the progression of the relationship of the step-mother and daughter and the step-mother and her sister-in-law. Not really recommended, but it was written nicely.
