“The book is soo good right now!!! i havent read it all yet but im loving it right now!! it has sooo much drama in the book that its hard to put the book down at the goods parts. When it was the part that the big badger came in, i thought they were going to get killed. I was sooo afraid at that part, but if you take the time to read this book you will fall in love with this book just like i did.”
“I read this back when I was in school and my knowledge of English was VEEERY limited. I don't remember much of the story only the fact that I loved the illustrated pages. May b i'd read the book again someday.”
“Re reading this with my almost three year old, i had forgotten the wonderful story of mole and rat, before toad becomes such a central character. this is my sons first book that is mostly words without much in the way of illustrations, (though the ones there are enthrall him), i am amazed at how the story with its big words and archaic expressions hold him (and me, of course) fasinated. Great book!”
“I guess it depends on where you were when you got to this book, but I loved it. Loved that Mr. Toad was a real rascal, yet the narrator was very sympathetic. I guess I had graduated from the Hardy Boys, Blilly and Blaze, and maybe even Robert Louis Stevenson, where good guys were good and bad guys were bad, and people who put life and limb and the public good at risk were not portrayed as a likeable sort. Still a pretty straight and narrow son of a preacher, but I can wink at the bad boys nows, some 30 years later!!! All three of my sons have been exposed to this book. While I expect nothing but the best from them, I want them to share the nonjudgemental response to the occasional totally irresponsible rip. Mr. Toad rides again!!!!! ”
