  “I got this book in 2004 and it's been a part of my mornings ever since. It's interesting to see the comments I have made throughout the years.
  
  This is not a book that you "start" or "finish." It's meant to be a guide for daily prayers and meditations and for monthly private retreats. The book is arranged by date according to the Christian year. Several elements are included in the daily format. Each day has a specific format:
  
  Invocation. A call to enter into the presence of Spirit.
  Psalm. A reading from the book of Psalm in the Holy Bible. The Psalm itself is not written in the book, so you will need to refer to a Bible for that portion of the reading. A specific Psalm is chosen for the week.
  
  Reading and Reflection.
  A thought written by various authors on different issues. A reading and reflection might be a thought on prayer, peace, seeking God, the environment, being accountable, for example.
  
  Daily Scripture Reading.
  Each day has an assigned reading again from the Holy Bible.
  Reflection: Silent and Written.
  This time is set aside for you to reflect quietly or write for as long as you wish.
  Prayers
  Again, time allotted to pray for the church, others, and yourself.
  Hymn.
  A hymn is chosen for the week and is written in the book.
  Benediction.
  A closing thought / prayer.
  
  This book may be used alone or in a group setting. I find it very comforting as well as intimate. I love it!”
