“Powerful, moving, erotic, a social milestone. Note: When I rate a book with 5 stars, it has to be a work of historical/cultural significance. If it is fiction, there must be a solid plot, interesting characters (especially female characters), and it has to profoundly affect me emotionally, spiritually, even physically (e.g., can't swallow).”

The stories are in the shape more of drabbles than of very plot-coherent stories, but somehow it works very well. Recommended!”

“Not the kind of book I would usually read, this was given to me as a gift by a dear friend of mine. She told me to read the preface before I started and I'm glad that I did because it gave me insight as to why the stories were written. The book is in fact a series of short erotic stories. Some bizare, and some quite grave and violent in nature. But what interested me most in the preface is why she wrote these stories and how they came to be. If you ever feel like the challenge of reading something not so much for the content, but the REASON BEHIND the content, then pick this book up. (In saying that, the actual content is marvellous also).”
