“Hilarious! British humour never fails to amuse me. And the whole book is rife with it. There were times when I would be reading the story lying down in my bed at night and suddenly start giggling! Placed in a Victorian era England, it's a description of the travel taken up by 3 friends in a boat across the river Thames and the things they encounter. Through the first few chapters there seemed to be a template being followed which got boring. Some event happens, an analogy is drawn, the story behind analogy is told, sometimes another analogy appears and the story returns back. All of it were funny, of course, but predictability becomes boring. But there was one passage where there's a poetic, almost magical, description of the night where the author slips into a zone of profound wisdom. It was so unexpected, it gave me goosebumps.
Also, this book is special because it's the first book I read in my Kindle.”
