If this book doesn't make you laugh, rest assured that you need professional help for HDS - humour deficiency syndrome...
the best hilarious book till now
This book shows how what you write about never matters. What matters is how you write it.
one of the most hillarious books i have ever read . jerome k jerome is taut with his humor .this book could be the perfect company whem one is all jaded, sick from work......... all in all a great book
The most funniest story I've ever red. do not miss.
Excellent humor & common sense.
This is a funny book. At times laugh out loud funny. Probably not as funny as it once was. On finishing this, I concluded that it was piffle, nonsense, and totally unessential reading (6.5/10)
Best bit: Chapter 8 (pp59-63 in penguin Classics) describing Harris' singing of 'a comic song'. This is really amazing! You will be cracking up! If nothing else, find this bit in the library and read it there...!
p.131Description of work: "It always does seem to me that I am doing more work than I should do. It is not that I object to the work, mind you; I like work; it fascinates me, I can sit and look at it for hours. I love to keep it by me; the idea of getting rid of it nearly breaks my heart." ........
p.149. Good fishing yarn...
Is it the kind of humor you need everyday?
Doesn't it seems as you are part of their journey?
I tried to read the book over the course of a week. I wanted to savor it, so I did need a little bit of this sort of humor every day. It's 19th century British humor, though, and much of the enjoyment comes from seeing how the three friends behave, both on the boat and in the towns they visit.
There's a fair amount of physical humor, too. The part where they are packing is spot-on, and the business with the can of pineapples had me stopping in mid sentence, I was laughing so hard.
I didn't feel like I was part of the journey. I am not familiar with the countryside, or the type of boat they were using (apparently, they walked along the shore, and pulled it with a rope). It might have helped if I were British, or if I lived a hundred years ago.
The book, though, is a classic, and still a very enjoyable read. Highly recommended.
very hilarious and feel the writer can make a joke of anything of the regular life which we might feel to notice....
It was quite ok, not hilariously funny but an altogether enjoyable read! the 3 man and their dog pass throgh enough to make one feel sorry but also envy their leisure!
do not go with the name.the book's a crap. this must be the beginning of "the art of the catchy titles",100 years ago!!

I agree with someone called "wisecrack". If this book can't make you laugh, rest assured no other book can. Personally I was a great fan of Wodehouse's. This book (and 3 men on the Bummel is even better, esp the first 100 pages) beats most Wodehouse's books. You can't take every book abd expect it to be a thriller or having a plot. This is for casual reading. No info to be gained but you can't refute that it is outright funny.
I have just started reading the 1st pages for free from this site. This book is hilarious, can't wait to read.
