“GREAT BOOK - FIRST ONE THAT I HAVE READ OF THIS AUTHOR. YOUNG LADY IN BRITAIN DURING WWI, SHE IS A NURSE AND HAS TO CARRY A DYING MESSAGE BACK TO ARTHUR'S FAMILY. THIS IS THE DEBUT IN THE BESS CRAWFORD SERIES.”

“Perfect reading for a gray, gloomy day. However, this is not as good as the Ian Rutledge series. For some reason, the female-led stories are just too soppy.

Is it giving too much away to say this is similar to "Wings of Fire" and "Watchers of Time"? And I wish that we got to find out what happens to some of the secondary characters...”

“Very well done, although I was able to guess about some of the plot twists. However, I'm not sure that is a result of the work itself or an overly zealous review that I read somewhere. That being said, even though I was able to figure out some plot points I didn't get all of them and it didn't spoil the narrative in any way. ”
