Historian Thomas Woods clears up all the anti-Catholic propaganda passed down from the 16th and 17th centuries with a well-documented, masterful history of how the Catholic Church engineered the world and culture we live in today. Woods takes a look at science, law, economics, art and archetecture, charity and hospitals, and government and shows how most solid modern concepts came from the heart of the Church over the past 2000 years of it's existance. I highly recommend this book for high school students and college students as well as adults. It'll help you refute the false secular views of the Church which are pushed in public education today. Most people are more worried about bias than truth today, and they miss the mark. It's good to hear that serious historians are still interested in finding and documenting the facts.

This book is masterful. It shatters one conventional myth after another regarding the catholic church, science and the advancement of civilization. Thomas E. Woods, Jr., has done a great scholarly service with this book. Highly recommended.
