Follow the story through just postcards that reveal a wild family story.

I was a little disappointed at this book. I guess Annie Proulx is better at short story writing, Postcards seemed a bit long sometimes. But I will keep on reading her stories.

The same distinctive and slightly strange style as The Shippng News, but without the happy ending. The various threads of this book trace the fates of the members of the Blood family over several decades, but the main thread is concerned with Loyal Blood, who sentences himself to the life of an itinerant because of a terrible event which takes place while he is a young man. Beautifully written, nonetheless. A truly memorable book.

A man thinks he has murdered some one and goes travelling, communicating back home by postcards. It's a strange one and it got me into a deeply dark mood for a while.

Just finished it last night. Annie Proulx loves the quirky characters (with quirky names), but this book really grew on me after a somewhat slow start. I can't believe this was her first book - she is truly a talented writer.

I had trouble getting into this book--was disappointed at first and found it almost boring--put it down for days. Maybe it was Annie Proulx's unusual writing style. Anyway, about half way through the book I became engrossed and couldn't wait to finish it. Sad story, but it gives one a lot to think about.

The book just didn't reel me in and I did struggle through it. Not the fault of the book or author; it just wasn't for me.

As a librarian I'm often asked what my favorite book is. Often when I mention Angle of Repose I get asked what other books I would recommend to another Stegner fan. This is one of them.

Did not enjoy Postcards. But I did read it all the way through, which is a sign that it had some merit. Very seldom do I put down a book. I feel it is rude to the writer

My first Annie Proulx book. Good enough to send me on to her next novel.
