well Amitava Ghosh, in all his books may it be Hungry tide , Calcutta chromosomes or Glass palace.. has a beauty of narrating 2stories simultaneously and the amalgamation of them is just perfect..this absolutely a vivid description of the delta.. and with his immaculate style .. he has able to capture the imagination of readers

One of the best work of fictions I have read... Amazing insights to the Sunderbans. A visit to sunderbans gave me a very enriching perspective of the story. One needs to visit the place to appreciate the finer details narrated beautifully. As usual Ghosh interweaves fiction with history and spices it up with narrative on human relationships and behavior. There is a unique element of humane poignancy one finds in the story of simple villagers.
