However, I didn't care much for this book. Interesting premise, I guess - a female vampire who is also black....but there is an element I found very disturbing. “What an amazing book. I can't even start to talk about it without giving everything away. All I can say is, True Blood is more pop compared to this classic. But Fledgling is pop compared to Bram Stoker's classic. So much going on and a very fast read.”

“What a great book! Butler offers a fresh take on the vampire genre and does it very, very well. Shori is a fantastic character and having her discover the details of her life at the same time the reader does makes for an exciting read. Plently of action and intrigue along with interesting characters and situations--what else do you need? Read this book.”

“I really enjoyed this book and I wish there could be a sequel. I know that it wont be because Octavia butler is dead but I really wanted to hear more of the story. It is a great book and I highly recommend it.”

so far, its an Amazing read..
I am in AWE of this author...this is the Best Novel to date..Now, there is not alot of action in this book but the Great storyline makes up for that. The main character Shori is half vampire and half human. Her kind loves men and women. When she is with a women it seems okay and you dont even think of it as a lesbian act. Can you say 'Weird'. Love this novel. just loved it.”
