Is it really any surprise that the book was 100 times better than the movie? And I loved the movie, too!

I enjoyed this book. Very similiar to the movie with a few twists and some more back story here and there. I enjoyed it more then some of Perrotta's other books possibly because I knew what to expect so I didn't get quite as annoyed when characters did stupid things.

This is a hilarious quick read that I would recommend to anyone looking for something light. It is also a movie with Matthew Broderick and Reese Witherspoon that I have loved for years. I had never read the book before, but I think after both seeing the movie and reading the book, the movie holds pretty true to the plot and is just as funny. I really enjoyed both!

Loved it! I enjoyed the movie, and I just noticed this in the bookstore. I was surprised to see it was a book first.

If you enjoyed the movie, you will LOVE the book! It isn't as saucy, and it is a bit different - especially with where Mr. M actually takes a job at the end.

Full disclosure: I actually read the screenplay, but Shelfari didn't have that available, so I'm indicating that I've read that by including the novel. The novel is supposed to be fantastic, by the way.

Not my favorite Perrotta, probably because I disliked the scattered way he presents the story. Each character has a section, usually only a page or two and then the POV switches to another. A bit disjointed for me.

A black comedy. Multi charactered story revolving around a high school election. The movie was pretty strong as well.
