“It has some interesting ideas that give us food for thought. And the twists are highly imaginative and clever. Still, I was not fully engrossed in this story.”

Invisible Monsters was a mindf*ck just like the others, in the perfect way. His books really make you think and understand things on a deeper level.”

I have read it twice and will probably do it again. Highly recommended. Words that come to mind in reading this is existentialism and nihlism and a bit surreal. Think fear and loathing but more morbid and clever. ”

Brandy is a transvestite, only 1 operation away from becoming a real woman, the "big operation." Seth is a gay man. This trio goes around to people's open houses for homes that are for sale and steal their prescription drugs while the girl is looking for her brother she lost touch with as a child (her parents kicked him out of the house when they found out he was gay). What sh finds is that her brother is really Brandy.”

His manipulation of language is some of the best I have ever seen, and he maintains a VERY compelling narrative that accumulates so many twists along the way I was reading open-mouthed for the last third of the book. Not a great look on the bus but an incredible read nonetheless.
Digested read: Give me beauty. Flash. Give me fame. Flash. Give me a gunshot to the face. Flash. Give me invisibility. Flash. Give me a break. ”
