Lord Devlynn's night with Lady Apryll promised ecstasy. But before the sun came up, the wanton angel had vanished-along with the castle jewels. The Lord and Lady will meet again, and when they do, the night will promise vengeance-of the most wild and wicked kind.

This was an exhiliarating ride. I don't often read novels set during this timeframe, but I'm glad I gave it a chance. It was a wild and wicked read indeed.

Lady Apryll was couragious if not overly stubborn and prideful, but I loved her character for it. She was also naive and easily gulled by her brother, which she allowed out of love for him.

Lord Devlynn was a man with his soul seemingly in torment from the guilt of his past. However, a passionate soul still raged within him, and he was soon brought back to himself through the aid of Lady Apryll. I found him, powerful, demanding and lonely, yet with a need for love.

The other characters were well played out, and I was fooled in the deciever at the end. I had the foe pegged at first and then swayed to another only to be surprised. Reminded me of the story of Ceaser.

I would recommend this novel for anyone with a taste for thrill and seduction. It was wonderfully written and kept me grasped within it's hooks, reading it cover-to-cover.
