    A really good book. I have found that Lisa Jackson could become one of my favorite authors. Enjoyed it.

    This is the second Lisa Jackson book I have read, and I have to say, I am a fan.
    A killer is stalking Shannon Flannery, a serial killer that likes to kill with fire. And Shannon's family is obsessed with fire, her father and brothers were all fire fighters. Her late husband and his family were also fire fighters. They also all had secrets that they kept from Shannon. Shannon has her own secrets, problem is, the killer knows everybody's secrets. He has a plan, a deadly plan that involves a girl with a connection to Shannon, those close to her and ends with Shannon's death, can she figure it out before its too late, will she survive?

    Lisa Jackson once again had me fully engrossed in the plot, she throws suspicion all around, hints at dark secrets, shifts from one to scene to another in a manner that kept me involved. I literally could not figure out who did it until she revealed it, one person I suspected, I was kind of relieved it wasn't him, because that was too obvious too early in the book and I would have been disappointed in Lisa. Once again it was a wild, twisty ride to a unexpected conclusion that didn't disappoint.

    I love Lisa Jakson and this is the first book I read by her. She has a chilling way of getting into your mind. Torture and the detailed ways of how she writes the way she does, makes her a wonderful mystery fiction writer. I couldn't put it down and let someone else read it next who read it in 1/2 the time that I did. I think that what I appreciate is her methodical mind in coming up with the various scenes in the book. It's pretty action packed most of the way through. Of course the ending---you'll have to read it and see!

    Good potential storyline for the most part. Full of eye-rolling moments:

    * A pillow "crashes" against a wall.
    * A woman is taking a bath "wearing nothing but a necklace." Of course she's wearing 'nothing.' She's taking a bath.
    * One person pours Champagne and 5 paragraphs later later the other opens the Champagne! Ah ha! Tricky, that.
    * A murder is being discussed. There is talk of blood.
    "Whose?" asks a character. "Blanche Johnson's." is the answer. Ten paragraphs later the first character asks if the blood is Dani's. The detective says: "We don't know. We won't know for awhile yet." (Not necessarily exact quotations.)

    Travis, the so-called out of his mind with worry over his missing daughter really does nothing to find her except to travel all the way to Shannon's house. The rest of the time he spends showing up at precisely the right time and seducing Shannon.

    Another thing that bugs me is that the author beats us over the head with descriptions of "the pervert does this" and "the pervert did that". DON'T FREAKING TELL US THE BAD GUY IS A PERVERT: JUST DESCRIBE HIS ACTIONS! We'll get it.

    I was really dissappointed in this one.

    Definitely a great suspense novel, but not so much in the romance department. Despite this, I still thoroughly enjoyed this.
