I just didn't get this. What a strange book. Amish Cults and a very narrow viewpoint. Kind of like Max Barry on a bad LSD trip. Not my kind of book.

An interesting look at an interesting person Tender Branson.. took a while to get into the book, but it kept me reading after getting to the revealing parts... some parts had to read twice as they were mentioned so non-chalantly and yet so surprising.. a good read.. ending is very appropriate.. testing, testing, one, two..........

Standard Chuck for Chuck fans. Not great, but it will give you your Chuck fix.

It was uninteresting personally; I had to force myself to finish it.

More depressing than his other books, also without the hope. I didn't love it.

His best book that I've read so far. The story and characters that Palahniuk creates is this novel is amazing. The story is gripping and sad. But empowering in some way. "Palahniuk is the visionary we need and the satirist we deserve."

I wish you could do half stars, this one would be a 3.5. Not Fight Club, but unmistakably the same author. Disturbing at times, but not without a reason:

"We all grew up with the same television shows. It's like we all have the same artificial memory implants. We remember almost none of our real childhoods, but we remember everything that happened to sitcom families. We have the same basic goals. We all have the same fears."
The lips say, "The future is not bright.
"Pretty soon, we'll all have the same thoughts at the same time. We'll be in perfect unison. Synchronized. United. Equal. Exact. The way ants are. Insectile. Sheep."
    Everything is so derivative.
A reference to a reference to a reference.
"The big question people ask isn't 'What's the nature of existence?'" the mouth says. "The big question people ask is 'What's that from?'"

This was one of Palahniuk's tamer novels I've read. Don't get me wrong, he knows how to make you appreciate the deviancy in his novels. This was an interesting and entertaining read for the book lover that yearns for taboo subject matter.
