What an amazing book... I liked every single thing about this: the emotions - wow, can this lady write! -, so very deep, so wonderfully put, the religion - I loved finding out so much about the Mormon's, seeing them in a different light -, the characters - I felt so connected with Ronnie! The...

I like this book because it showed the stages of maturity that we all go through and did it in a surprising way.

I liked this book so much I finished it in less than a day. I just couldn't put it down (thank goodness it was a weekend)! It was a very interesting story and I couldn't wait to find out how it ended.

Difficult book to read and get in to. The murder of children doesn't ever make pleasant reading material so I was a bit baffled as to why the author stated in her author's note that this was her "best book yet" . I almost put this one down to not return to it but a long road trip gave me time to finish it. And I'm glad I did. This story really spoke to the power of forgiveness. Decent read if you can get past the gruesomeness of the beginning of the book.

This is a book about forgiveness and how forgiveness is more about freeing yourself than it is about releasing the other party. Ronnie's two young sisters a murdered by Scott, a young man suffering from schizophrenia. He gets minimal jail time. His wife and parents stick by him. Ronnie is angry and confused and thinks what she needs is revenge to ease her turmoil. When her Mormon parents tell her that they have forgiven Scott, Ronnie sets on a path of planned revenge that she feels is the justice due her sisters that the courts and 'the rest of the world' have not given them. Ultimately Ronnie cannot carry out her plan and it is several 'fateful' encounters that lead her to the forgiveness she needs to ease her soul and continue her life.
