The author goes to the heart of a young man and explores his relationship with his best friend who is his older brother whom he looks up to. When he dates his brother's ex-girlfriend, the relationship unravels. With deep sensitivity and honesty Zusak explores the complexity of the reationship between two brothers, the things that bind them together and tear them apart. Through the eyes of the young protagonist, Cameron Wolfe we get a glimpse of the passion and desires in the heart of a young man as he grapples with his own sexuality, and struggles to stand on his own, outside of the shadow of his brothers. Excellent reading, Bravo Markus Zusak !!!
