Quotes edit see section history

  • “Damn, what the hell is wrong with that girl? Was there a sell at Morbid R US and nobody told her?”
    Shane
  • “You? You dance?" "You've been to parties with me. You know I dance, jackass." "Hey, there's a difference between shaking your ass at a rave and ballet.”
    Shane, Eve
  • “Bring home some brisket. And some of that sauce. I've had enough chili dogs this week to last me a lifetime." "Hey, my chili dogs are the best in town." "It's a really small town." "Harsh.”
    Claire, Shane
  • “Trash?" "Most definitely not. It was my mother's." "You had a-" Myrnin's wide stare challenged her to just try to finish that sentence. "Wow, okay. What was she like? Your mother?" "Evil”
    Claire, Myrnin
  • “I'm going home, this job sucks.”
    Claire
  • “You ever feel like your life is kind of out of control?" "I just went to work for a vampire, was scared by a spider, and got knocked down by a tanning bomb. And that's just my day, not my week.”
    Michael, Claire
  • “I'm going to kill him. Lock him in a tanning bed. Drive him out in the desert with the top down. Myrnin, you are toast. Burned toast.”
    Claire
  • “Shouldn't you know if something was wrong with Amelie, you being her demonic spawn and everything?" "I'm not her spawn." "Not arguing the demonic part? She made you a vampire. Can't you tell if she's in trouble?" "You're confusing vampires with Spider-Man.”
    Shane, Michael
  • “Where are you going? Because I'm going with." "No, you're not. Someone needs to stay with Claire." "Then she's going with. Womenfolk don't stay behind anymore, Mikey, it's so last century.”
    Eve, Michael
  • “Now behave. Bite me and I swear I'll stake you." "You have no stake." "Wow, you're literal. Maybe I don't have one now, but just wait. You bite me, and it is on, bitch... I don't mean you're a bitch; it's just an expression. You know?”
    Eve, Amelie
  • “What do you want, Eve?" "Well, I'd like the blue-plate special of you thrown out of Morganville with a side order of dead, but I'll settle for a mocha for my friend.”
    Oliver, Eve
  • “Did you date her?" "Not-exactly. No I- no." "Did you hook up?" "I've got no good options here. Whatever I say, you're going to believe I did, right? But even if I did, it was a long time ago, and anyway, I'm with you now. All right?”
    Claire, Shane
  • “It's a good thing I've got to live with the two of you, or I'd be putting this on YouTube later. And mocking you.”
    Michael
  • “What happened to your face?" "You." She snapped. "Remember?" "I certainly did not order you to stand out in the sun. What possible good would that do?" "Box? UV bomb? Ringing any bells?" "Oh. Yes. Quite my fault. So sorry. What were we talking about?”
    Myrnin, Claire
  • “I thought you were with me in this." "Did I say that? Well, I'm not very reliable, as you know. You very nearly succeeded in bribing me with these excellent Cubans. But in the end, I must remain loyal to my lady. And I really can't allow you to torment my apprentice. After all, that's my job.”
    Oliver, Myrnin
  • “Take her. Oliver is not going to be pleased, boy. Better go." "I had to. I had to stake him. He was going to kill her." "In point of fact, he wasn't; but that's not what I meant. You crashed a car into the limousine. Oliver loves his limousine.”
    Myrnin, Michael
  • “We've got a problem." "Really? The stake in my chest didn't indicate that at all.”
    Claire, Myrnin
  • “I'm taking my girl home." "I heard she worked for Bishop." "You heard wrong. She's my girl. Now back off." "Let's hear from her. So? You working for the vamps?" "Absolutely." "Ah hell. Okay, then. Run.”
    Shane, Unkown, Claire
  • “Yo, I'm guessing you don't want to go to a movie, or something fun like that." "Why wold you say that?" "Because that would by Shane's job. When you call me, it's usually an emergency.”
    Michael, Claire
  • “Fine. If you get me killed, I'm haunting you." "Wouldn't be the first time.”
    Michael, Claire
  • “Stay inside, I'm going to take a look." "Because you've got guy parts, you're automatically a better mechanic than me? I don't think so." To claire. "You stay in the car." "I don't know anything about cars. I will." "Finally, a girl with some sense.”
    Shane, Eve, Claire
  • “Crazy boss is coming. Lovely. This ought to be fun." "I so want his wardrobe. Is that shallow, or just strange?" "Don't see yourself short. It's both.”
    Shane, Eve
  • “I don't see a way in." Eve whispered. "Why are you whispering? Vampires can hear us, anyway.”
    Eve, Myrnin
  • “Living in a town full of terror doesn't mean you can't find true love- or at least, real sex." "Goodness, I don't think I should be watching this. I don't think I'm old enough.”
    Kim (video voice over), Myrnin
  • “Got to cut down on the cigarettes." "You don't smoke." "Then I'm completely screwed.”
    Eve (out of breath), Claire

    Myrnin

  • Those who read the symbol do so at their peril. It is the spectator, and not life, that art really mirrors. Diversity of opinion about a work of art shows that the work is new, complex, and vital. When critics disagree, the artist is in accord with himself. We can forgive a man for making a useful thing as long as he does not admire it. The only excuse for making a useless thing is that one admires it intensely. All art is quite useless.
