Almost Gothic in tone, as a woman struggles to save her family in the midst of tragedy and secrets. Beautifully written and haunting.

    I wasn't very impressed with this book. It was kind of weird, though I imagine there are people out there who act like the characters in the story. This is the 2nd book I've read on Oprah's book club-Can't remember the name but wasn't impressed with that one either
