Beatiful, poetic language and a narrative voice that's laced with a mystical sense of time, place and destiny combine to produce a can't-stop-watching train wreck of a love story.

I'm conflicted about this book...it was well written, the story well developed and all that, but my problem is that I didn't like the characters and I hated the plot. I thought the main character was an idiot who made bad decisions and put herself and her daughter in a bad position. The only person that seemed like a decent person was Hank. Maybe I just didn't get it-I know that it's not supposed to be a "happy" story. It's a story about love that is ideal in it's feeling and intention...
