    mahoganyrain, i felt the same way when i started reading the book. to me it was a same ole story. but this story has some interesting historical facts about the family. i would suggest you keep reading. if not for the story, but for the history of one family and how some of them accepted their mixed heritage and how how other rebeled against it.
