“This book had me so enthralled, I had a hard time pacing myself and letting the words fully digest or be pondered at all before moving on. I really loved reading this book. I loved the way 'Jones' asked people questions to get them to think and give them 'perspective'. To see things in a new light. Such a great book!”Martha T wrote this review Wednesday, July 24, 2013. “I want to read this. Andy Andrews writes the most interesting books.”Orletta E Caldwell wrote this review Sunday, June 30, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“I always enjoy Andy Andrew's perspectives. Thought provoking and self reflective. So many great things to gain from this book, too many in fact to write them all down but here are a few of my favorites!
"Your time on this earth is a gift to be used wisely. Don't squander your words or your thoughts. Consider that even the simplest actions you take for your lives matter beyond measure ......and matter forever."
Pg. 9 "Experience is not the best teacher. Other people's experience is the best teacher. By reading about the lives of great people, you can unlock the secrets to what made them great."
Pg. 15 Ask this question every day: What is it about me that other people would change if they could?
"A successful life has a great deal to do with perspective. And another person's perspective about you can sometimes be as important as your perspective is about yourself."
Pg. 40 " Four major dialects:
1. Spoken words of approval
2. Favors and deeds
3. Physical contact
4. Love expressed in quality time
Pg. 83 "Many of life's treasures remain hidden from us simply because we never search for them. Often we do not ask the proper questions that might lead us to the answer to all our challenges. We are so caught up in fear and regret, that hope seems a foolish endeavor."
Pg. 111 "There is no difference in the person who intends to do things differently and the one who never thinks about it in the first place. Have you ever considered how often we judge ourselves by our intentions while we judge others by their actions? Yet intention without action is an insult to those who expect the best from you."
WOW I WISH I COULD HIGHLIGHT THAT!!
Pg. 120 "Forgiveness is about the past. Trust and respect are about the future. Forgiveness will be in the hands of others and can be given to you, but trust and respect are in your own hands....and must be earned."
Pg. 154 "Perspective brings calm. Calm leads to clear thinking. Clear thinking yields new ideas. And ideas produce the bloom of an answer. Keep your head and heart clear. Perspective can just as easily be lost as it can be found."
Pg. 156 "When we notice things about ourselves and other people that allow us all to regroup, take a breath and begin our lives again, the best is surely yet to come."
“Wonderful book that will totally change your perspective on any situation you are put in. ”Brittany Adams wrote this review Tuesday, June 18, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“A God-like character named Jones/Garcia/Chen interacts with various people and makes a big impact by helping them look at life from a different perspective. This was inspiring.”kingfisher wrote this review Wednesday, May 1, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
