“I enjoyed this book. The idea of a painting being alive is fun. It reminds me of Mary Poppins & the sidewalk chalk drawings or of Wild Wild West when the bad guy went into a painting.”Rexiena n wrote this review Saturday, January 28, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“I liked it, however I've enjoyed her other books better.
Maybe it's because I've read several paranormal books about being trapped in a painting and getting free, but I just didn't see anything fantastic about this story or the characters to some extent.
After 300 years, Jason Rourke is finally freed out of his painting prison by Karinna "Kari" Adams. Learning about his imprisonment because he was caught in bed with a wizards virgin daughter and how now he's seeking her help to adjust to this new world.
Its fun reading about Rourke learning about modern technology and learning to drive. It's not long before they get into a routine together and Kari realizes her feelings are growing. However, throughout, she can't find it in herself to take the final leap with Rourke because of his vampire status.
When they take the necessary trip to free the wizard's daughter, Ana Luisa, their lives once again take on another complication. Ana Luisa learns Rourke didn't love her 300 years ago nor does he now. Mad, she goes onto the streets and meets Ramon, whom turns out to be a vampire and reveals Rourke's secret to her as well. Magically, those two sync at once and it's love at first sight.
As for Kari and Rourke? When he knows she's withdrawing and can't get over her interpretation of vampires, he leaves for his quest to find he's father's sword and seek out the wizard. After 2 weeks of waiting, he returns home to find Kari's been captured by him.
Frozen in a painting, much like he was, Rourke lets his anger get away from him and with the help of Ana and Ramon, kills the wizard before lifting the curse and he fears he'll never get her out.
By making contact with her through thoughts, they are together until Rourke comes up with one final solution that might work: turning her into a vampire. Despite her protests, he turns her and returns the next night to find her free, but angry.
Its just before drinking from Ramon that Rourke stops her and she realizes they have forever together and she shouldn't be angry. Taking her home, they hope to have a lifetime of happiness. ”
“Three centuries ago, vampire Jason Rourke succumbed to temptation with a wizard's lovely daughter - and that brief taste of pleasure earned him a powerful curse. Trapped within a painting, unable to quench the hellish thirst that torments him, Jason has given up hope of escape until Karinna Adams purchases the painting and unwittingly frees him. At first, Jason plans only to enlist Kari's help in navigating this strange new world so he can find and punish the wizard who entrapped him. But Kari's enticing sensuality and innocence incite a growing need in Jason to touch and taste her, to possess her utterly. For the gulf between them - and the danger that awaits - is nothing compared to a potent, primal hunger that will last for all eternity...”Kinga wrote this review Saturday, July 23, 2011. “This book was pretty good, I just found I didn't really like the writing style of the author. She describes everything that the characters do - I'm sorry, but I don't really need to know their entire morning routine down to the last toothbrush. Also, for a book that's called "Immortal Sins" and has a pretty sexy dude on the cover, I was expecting some pretty sexy love scenes. Alas, I was disappointed...”Renee L wrote this review Wednesday, November 10, 2010. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“An easy and light read. The plot was interesting but a little predictable. I enjoyed the book but can't say it is a favorite. I especially enjoyed the piercing blue eyes on the cover :-)”Nerissa H wrote this review Monday, April 19, 2010. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
