“Enjoyable mystery series set on Mallorca in Spain. I read these before a trip to Spain and enjoyed a glimpse of the culture and food as well as the plots which involve Inspector Alvarez who is a combination of Guido Brunetti in Donna Leon's mystery series and Columbo. He never seems like he knows what he is doing and yet always solves the mystery just before his job is threatened. He is also perfectly capable of allowing a larger sense of justice overtake the law.
